Postdoctoral Researcher Recruitment 【Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related science/engineering】

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related science/engineering field.

Essential Competencies:

1. Excellent English academic writing skills.

2. Proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing), supported by academic degrees obtained from English-speaking institutions (where English is the official language or the program is taught entirely in English) or valid English proficiency test scores.

3. Proficiency in both Chinese and English presentation skills.

Required Expertise (in order of importance):

1. Familiarity with CFD thermal-fluid simulation (ANSYS FLUENT or COMSOL) or DFT calculations.

2. Experience in drafting and managing project proposals related to combustion control, air pollutant emission control, or atmospheric pollutant transport.

3. Experience in applying artificial intelligence to data statistics.

4. DFT calculation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for executing and managing projects titled "Net Emission Characteristics and Control of Aerosol Pollutants Generated from Gasification and Combustion of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Waste" and "Integrated Chemical Looping Combustion and Catalytic Filtration Technologies for Controlling Chlorine and Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances."

2. Support research activities related to sustainable energy technologies, pollution control technologies development, and air quality observation and simulation.

3. Assist in guiding graduate students.

4. Support the organization or participation in academic conferences and present research findings.

Work Location:

Sustainable Energy and Aerosol Technology Lab, Department of Environmental Engineering, National Cheng Kung University. The lab is led by Professor Sheng-Lun Lin.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting salary for recent Ph.D. graduates in their first year is NT$65,010 (referencing the research stipend standards for postdoctoral researchers at National Cheng Kung University). Salary for candidates with relevant work experience is negotiable.
